Just
for Dads ...
"Any
man can be a father.
|
Becoming a Dadfor the first time can be a wonderful, exciting experience or can take you to a very scary place. Fortunately there is a lot of information and help for new Dads these days. Lots of expectant fathers don't realise how much they really need to prepare for and learn about. It all seems to revolve around Mum. But the truth is the more you can learn during the pregnancy, the more informed choices you will be able to make with your partner and the more you will enjoy this experience.Every Dad I've spoken to that has gone to antenatal classes has been amazed at just what a real contribution they can make during pregnancy, at the birth especially, and when you bring your newborn home. It is the little things that will earn you big Brownie points and make this a time of getting closer than ever and ensuring bonding for the family as well as bonding for you and your child. Pampering Mum-to-be is one of the greatest things you can do - and it doesn't have to be expensive. Little things like spending quality time with her, doing a few chores before being asked, compliment her, buy a baby magazine or something for baby. Involving yourself with things like helping prepare the Labour Kit and being ready to understand the ups and downs that hormones bring, cook a meal or just get a DVD she'd like, light the candles and have a romantic evening. Never take anything personally during this time (and especially not during the birth!) :-) ! Great

![]() With so many parenting books available and so many other baby items eating up your salary, it's difficult to know what is worth spending money on but without doubt, "Birth and Beyond" by Dr Yehudi Gordon is excellent value. The peace of mind and self-confidence it helps instill as well as the fact that although it's intended for pregnancy and the following nine months, parents say they still finding useful over one year later makes it good value. A couple of books that are both helpful and humorous for expectant dads: The Blokes Guide to Pregnancy, Jon Smith. Loads of advice and stuff you didn't think you'd need to know. Your New Baby, an owners manual, Martin Baxendale. Not much real advice but absolutely hilarious. And you'll need the lighter side occasionally! Speaking of which ... if you want to give your partner something special buy her 'Up the Duff' ... should put a smile on her face when all the other books are depressing her. click for ![]() FIRST AID for Baby : The Essential Guide CLICK HERE Free Articles from Live-Abundantly.com such as "Get Dad Involved in Breastfeeding" ![]() SelfImprovementNewsletters.com provides one of the most complete collections of Free Newsletters for Self Improvement and Personal Growth on the Internet.
